Prayer

Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Prayer.

John Calvin, the father of Presbyterianism, said it is our primary exercise of faith. It is how we truly know God through our regular conversations with him. Prayer always preceeds revival and spiritual renewal. It is vital for the spiritual health of believers and the church.

Because of this, we offer two opportunities each week to bring what is on our hearts to the Lord. Sundays at 4pm in the Lounge – where we verbally call on His gracious mercies, and Tuesdays at 10:30am – which is a time of silent prayer and meditation focusing on a prayer list which is updated every week.

Listen to what D.A. Carson, a Reformed Baptist pastor said about prayer:

“We don’t drift into spiritual life; we do not drift into disciplined prayer. We do not grow in prayer unless we plan to pray. That means we must set aside time to do nothing but pray. What we actually do reflects our highest priorities. That means that we can proclaim our commitment to prayer until the cows come home, but unless we actually pray, our actions disown our words.”

Come and grow and be part of the renewal our world needs by joining us either of those days! Then lets us praise the Lord for everytime he answers our petitions!
